Successful buoy deployment at a temporary site for field testing!
- The the buoy mooring at a temporary site at the head of the Blanes Canyon on July 18th, 2009 was successful.
- The aim of the present deployment is testing the buoy structure and bouyancy, data acquisition and telemetry.
- Data acquisition is done from a GPS and nine meteorological instruments: air temperature, humidity (relative to another air temperature sensor), atmospheric pressure, wind direction, wind velocitity (at present there are two anemometres installed for performance comparison), and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR).An acoustic doppler current profiler (ADCP) was also installed facedown in the lower part of the buoy structure.
The mooring was successful !
Telemetry is working fine.
ADCP is doing well.
An innovative resetting system implemented in the buoy works Ok.
