Inductive CTDs telemetry
The inductive CTDs attached to the mooring of the buoy at 25m and 50m depths are not transmitting since last 6 October. An in-situ inspection performed on 26 October allowed disclosing that CTDs are in apparent good health as they are still recording data every half an hour though the problem with telemetry persists.
In order to find a solution, the buoy should be taken to the port for inspection and replacement of the surface inductive modem. We have decided that this operation will be performed just in the case that new incidences will take place in future before the next planned maintenance operation to be held in March 2010. Meanwhile, the inductive CTDs will be recording data and those data will be recovered until then.
