The kind collaboration of the R/V Garcia del Cid's captain and crew, as well as the vessel's administrative coordination by UTM-CSIC (Arturo Castellón) made possible the vessel was available for the mooring deployment in the Blanes Canyon head, just a few hours before the crew went on vacations! The mooring was successfully deployed last Friday 23rd July, 2010.
So that, the next step to follow is joining the oceanographic buoy to the buoy marker. The logistics for this operation is in progress and hopefully the buoy will be deployed and will be operational once more within days.
We want to thank the kind collaboration of Joan Puigdefabregas and Jordi Cateura, from the Maritime Engineering Lab. at Polytechnic University of Catalonia (in Barcelona) to make easier the mooring preparation on board and its deployment.
