Buoy recovered. |
CTD attached to the inductive cable, recovered. The longline tangled around the CTD indicates that there was an undeclared incident produced by any member of the fishing fleet working nearby. |
|
Buoy dragged ashore. |
Zebrafish family living under the buoy came with it up to the port (at a velocity of 3 knots). |
|
The oceanographic and meteorogical buoy of the CEAB was removed from its location at the Blanes Canyon head, in order to perform major maintenance of the structure and instrumentation.
Main actions will consist of cleaning and painting the buoy structure, cleaning the intruments, battery replacement of the CTD16+IM, and calibration of the three CTD (the two CTD16+IM and the CTD38 SMP) against a reference CTD19+ and Lab analyses of samples collected at the mooring location.
The acoustic doppler current profiler, the meteorological instrumentation and all the electronics will be tested out.
The buoy with full instrumentation is expected to be taken back to the original place within a month.
