Mooring location

The oceanographic buoy is deployed at a fixed point at the Blanes Canyon head, between the continental shelf and the upper slope at 192 m depth, and at about 3 miles offshore.

The mooring location was chosen in agreement with the Blanes fishermen association, as several fishing grounds are located nearby.

 

Present mooring location, since Aug 2010: 41º 39.7' N; 0 2º 54.6' E
