International cooperation and students opportunities

In order to promote applied research from the sphere of marine environmental research while contributing to the internationalization of higher education in Europe, the CSIC through the Center for Advanced Studies of Blanes (CEAB) and the University of Applied Sciences Hochschule Fresenius (Idstein, Germany) have recently signed a Cooperation Agreement, in force since 07 Feb 2017 until 07 Feb 2021.

In particular, this agreement seeks to formalize and promote existing cooperation between the two parties, by sending Erasmus students from the University of Fresenius to the CEAB with the aim of training mid-career students (fifth semester) and final project students (eighth semester) to address issues related to marine environmental changes that may be related to regional or global change, carried out within the framework of the Marine Observatory (OOCS) at CEAB.

Depending on the interest and skills of the student, individual working plans are formulated to focus on areas such as monitoring of the marine environment through in situ and remote observation systems, statistical analysis of environmental time series or numerical simulations of physical and biogeochemical processes.

Regardless the existence of a cooperation agreement, under the framework of the OOCS activities, students are kindly invited to spend a semester or to carry out their masther theses in the fields of coastal operational oceanography, statistical ecology and numerical modelling.

This is a continuous open call. For datails please send a message here.
